Mercosur Regional Analysis

Corn Argentine corn basis levels are weaker this week, especially for spot shipments (August and September) where seller's ideas are in the -65 CZ to -70 CZ range. Most trading houses already have goods originated, but they still need to find a home for their products. Last week we reported 20-25 cents/bushel of carry for October shipment. As buyers are sniffing around for these positions, some trading houses started to work on their logistics to sell deferred shipments, mainly October and November. Selling ideas during the last week dropped down to -65 CZ for October and -60 CZ for November. Some trades for September and October shipments were made at -65 CZ. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
