Mercosur Regional Analysis

Weather Dry weather continues to be the trend in Argentina, and there is concern about the corn and soybean yields. The forecast called for good rain coverage over the Pampa Humeda region (Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Santa Fe provinces) during the first week of February, but only a few showers were registered mainly in northern Santa Fe. Some parts of the core production region are under water stress. As seen in the maps below, northern Buenos Aires, Cordoba and mid-southern Santa Fe are out of water reserves.Showers are forecasted for 11 February and good to normal coverage is expected in the main water stressed areas of Pampa Humeda (see map below).
