The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange presently estimates that the total corn area is about 3.3 million hectares, a decrease of 10 percent year-on-year. This acreage is primarily being switched from corn to soybeans. Argentine Wheat The wheat harvest made good progress this past week in Cordoba and Santa Fe with yields at 1.9 MT/hectare. Presently, almost 30 percent of Argentina's total wheat area has been completed. It is expected that the harvest will start in coming days in Buenos Aires province where almost 50 percent of the acreage is planted. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
