In Paraguay almost 70 percent of the wheat crop is already harvested with very good quality. This is a little surprising because there were some excessive rains. Yet, wheat seems to have good test weight, and protein levels are reported to be above 13 percent. Soybeans Northern Brazil is facing dry conditions that are somewhat concerning to farmers. The seeding pace is about one week delayed versus the normal time frame. Yet, this is not exciting the market because of the lackluster sales pace. A few cargoes of soybeans were sold from Brazil this past week at +197 to +194 SK for May and +294 SN for June. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
