Argentine corn licenses for new crop have been issued for the time period from 15 March onward. However, early-seeded corn is presently being harvested, and Argentina has historically begun exports for new crop corn by the end of February.Argentina's core agricultural areas received rains during the past week that were necessary for good development of summer crops. Both corn and soybeans are in great conditions with high yields expected. That yield increase is expected to completely offset any acreage reduction. The present estimate is that Argentine corn production will be about 25 MMT, although only 6.5 MMT of corn export licenses have been made available.
