As FOB basis continued dropping last week, a cargo of Argentine soybeans was traded by the end of the week at levels of -2 SN for full May shipment. Today offers are at -5 SN with demand around 9 SN. The result is that Argentine origin is becoming more competitive against Brazilian.As has been widely reported, newly installed Argentine President Mauricio Macri followed through on his campaign promises and signed a decree that eliminates the export taxes on corn, wheat, barley, sorghum and sunseeds as well as reduces the export tax on soybeans (including meal and soyoil) from 35 to 30 percent.
