Egypt's tourism industry, which greatly affects the country's poultry sector, has improved since 2013. There are other factors, though, that are also impacting domestic poultry prices and supplies.
The Middle East/North Africa (MENA region) is the largest importer of French wheat, and France has once again raised its estimate of wheat exports for the current year from 8.8 MMT to 9.8 MMT. This is still down by about 20 percent from last year, but it is much better than had been expected in late 2014 forecasts. Reuters says that the increase has been pushed along by a weak euro coupled with a drop in export supplies from the Black Sea as well as increased export demand for feed wheat.
