Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/AFRICA – MEA REGION Turkey reports it will allow the export of both corn and durum wheat this year due to the bumper crop for both grains. Exports licenses have already been issued for durum wheat with corn licenses pending. According to trade reports, the highest past export levels seen were 754,000 MT of corn in 2017 and 84,000 MT of durum in 2021. However, reports say that the corn exports in 2017 were mainly re-exports of imported corn. Egypt’s wheat reserves are reported at six months consumption, including the latest purchase of 360,000 MT.
