Middle East, Mediterranean, and Africa Regional Analysis

Mediterranean/Middle East/North Africa/Africa – MEA Region Morocco has established its soft wheat import rebate program for 1 January to 30 April 2026. The actual amount of the import rebate is calculated on the average landed cost versus the government set reference price based on information supplied by France AgriMer and the International Grains Council. Importers must supply full documentary details of shipments including, but not limited to, purchase details, commercial invoices and bills of lading. Iran will continue to subsidize wheat imports in 2026 although other food staple items have had support removed. The subsidy is in the form of a fixed exchange rate for rials against US dollar.
