Regional Updates MIDDLE EAST/MEDITERRANEAN COMMENTS The growth in Turkey’s animal feed industry is very interesting, rising approximately 8 percent per year with production up from 13 MMT in 2011 to 22 MMT in 2017. It is largely dependent on imports of corn, DDGS and soymeal for its requirements, which is understandable as the country’s total corn production is limited to just over 6 MMT. Feed production for all animal sectors has increased significantly and possibly the most for dairy due to government efforts to expand local dairy production.
