This is part of the UN food aid program. Financial experts are forecasting a 2020 drop in the value of the Egyptian pound from the current level of about 15.7 to the U.S. dollar to as low as 17.0 to the U.S. dollar. This drop could increase the import cost of grains by about 7.5 percent. The drop is said to be due to the effects on the Egyptian economy by the coronavirus situation. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
