Mediterranean/Middle East/North Africa/Africa – MEA Region Turkish officials announced that the cost of vessels passing through the Bosphorus/Dardanelles will increase by 15 percent on 1 July. The new tariff is set at $5.83 per MT and will affect all grain/oilseed items from the Black Sea.   Turkey has become the largest importer of Ukraine corn in 2024/25, importing 2.6 MMT from September 2024 to April 2025 according to Turkish statistical information. Ukraine information has the corn imports much higher at 4.5 MMT for the same period. Forecasting developments in production agriculture

On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
