Middle East, Mediterranean, and Africa Regional Analysis

Mediterranean/Middle East/North Africa/Africa – MEA Region Egypt’s government purchased 3.93 MMT of local wheat from this year’s harvest an increase from last year’s 3.43 MMT purchase. The government had originally targeted a very enthusiastic 5.0 MMT. The local wheat harvest was completed in August. Egypt’s “Future of Egypt” (Mostakbal Misr) purchasing agency reportedly booked 200,000 MT of French wheat and several shipments of Ukraine and Romanian wheat – all in private negotiations. Some news reports say that the purchases from France could be as high as 400,000 MT. Prices are estimated to be between $265 and 270 MT CNF. Infrastructure investment due diligence

On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
