GASC has not confirmed this purchase. Egypt’s wheat imports, on a dollar basis, are reportedly up by $539 million in the first half of 2024 versus the same period in 2023. Total wheat imports in dollars reached $2.324 billion. Unfortunately, reporting imports in dollars is not very informative for wheat as reporting in MTs would be of greater value. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
