Regional UpdatesMEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/AFRICA – MEA REGIONAn Egyptian military organization has reportedly taken over the wheat purchasing responsibility of Egypt’s GASC. Mostakbal Misr Agency, an armed forces offshoot, is said to now be fully responsible as the exclusive organization for importing food commodities. The organization will use both international tenders and direct purchase agreements to secure goods. Official publications say that it will “assume all jurisdictions previously held by GASC”.Egypt is reported to have officially advised the Russian Union of Grain Exporters of the change in procurement methods for wheat with Mostakbal Misr as the only Egypt procurement agency. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company.
