Mediterranean/Middle East/North Africa/Africa – MEA Region Turkey’s barley imports in 2025/26 are forecasted to reach 1.7 MMT, up from only 150,000 MT in 2024/25. The increase is due to the expected 13 percent drought-related drop in barley production this year. Turkey’s imports of barley so far in 2025 have increased from 2024’s level of 36,000 MT to 233,000 MT. Turkey’s wheat production for 2025/26 is also forecasted to be lower — down 15 percent — at 16.3 million MT.
