Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/AFRICA – MEA REGION On 31 December, Turkey’s official Gazette published details of the approval of MON810 maize for a new period of 10 years for importation for feed use. Turkey’s government had “reimposed” a ban on MON810 genetically modified maize. MON810 maize has been allowed for importation since 2013. Turkey has been an importer of close to 1 MMT of USA DDGS.  Pakistan has increased the price of wheat flour, sugar and ghee that are being sold in its “utility” stores.
