More Things to Keep You Up at Night

The Kansas crop tour wrapped last night with participants seemingly surprised and disappointed by the results. The trouble today is that few people actually go out and look at crops anymore, relying instead on the weekly USDA crop ratings.

The Kansas crop tour wrapped up last night, and it's probably safe to say as a general statement that the participants were disappointed in what they observed. Stunted wheat, poor tillering and lower kernel counts per head were common. The tour estimated the Kansas crop at 288 million bushels with a yield of 35.9 bushels per acre.
