NGT Optimism EU Parliament rapporteur for the Commission’s proposed new policy on new genomic techniques (NGT’s) is Jessica Polfjärd and she is expressing optimism that she can get the portfolio approved in January. She told Euractiv that otherwise it may “take potentially years before we have a deal.” The center-right Member of Parliament may be overly optimistic. The Greens, Socialists and the Left are all opposed to the proposal. More importantly, the Green Deal/Farm to Fork policies may be stalled until after the elections in June.
