Big New Crop Soybean Sale Indicative of Buyer Concerns about U.S. Crop Yesterday USDA reported that an exporter last Friday or over the weekend made a sale of 1.19 MMT of soybeans to an unknown destination for shipment in the 2012/13 marketing year. The sale was the fifth largest one-day soybean sale in history and has an approximate value of about $640 million. Most likely the buyer was a Chinese crusher since China is about the only country with a buyer capable of making and handling such a large purchase.That a buyer would buy so many soybeans at once this time of the year is an indication of just how worried foreign soybean buyers are becoming about the size of the U.S. crop in 2012.
