One must question why the government allows U.S. biodiesel blenders to capture the tax credit for exported biodiesel when the objective of the blender credit has been to reduce U.S. energy dependence. U.S. Soybean Export Sales at 96.4 Percent of USDA Forecast USDA raised its forecast on Tuesday for U.S. soybean exports in 2013/14 by 25 million bushels to 1.475 billion bushels (40.14 MMT). The increase clearly was justified based on the reality that sales had reached 95 percent of USDA's forecast for all of 2013/14. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
