The final U.S. soy export data for 2014/15 was released yesterday, which indicated a notable increase from the previous marketing year. However, the change in overall export value did not necessarily reflect the higher volume. Disappointing Soybean Export Sales Last Week After several weeks of large soybean export sales, today’s USDA export sales report indicated those of last week were disappointing at a total of only 656,600 MT, a decline of 69 percent from the previous week and a marketing year low. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
