Large Vegoil Refinery to Open in Iraq Iraq’s Etihad Food Industries plans to open a very large vegoil refinery early in 2017 in Babylon Province, located south of Baghdad, with a daily capacity of 3,000 MT (1.1 MMT/year). It is situated next to the company’s sugar refinery and is intended to process 1 MMT of vegoils annually, including soybean, sunflower, corn and palm oils that will be imported from abroad.
