It has been reported that Russia is experiencing a shortage of soymeal that is likely to worsen in the future. This is a result of certain government actions as well as a failure of domestic soybean production to keep up with local demand. Brazil Soy Crop Forecasts Raised; Farmer Selling Slow Several analysts raised their forecasts this week for Brazil’s 2017 soybean crop. FC Stone International today estimated that production may reach 109.07 MMT (4.007 billion bushels), an increase of almost 5 MMT versus its previous forecast. It also noted that weather conditions have been nearly perfect in a large part of the planted area. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
