However, poor rainfall late in the growing season has made it clear that production of soybeans, peanuts and other crops will be lower than projected. The country’s Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) is now forecasting India’s peanut (groundnut) crop will total about 3.735 MMT at most, down 29 percent from 5.275 MMT last year. USDA is currently forecasting the crop at 4.7 MMT but will likely reduce that number in November.
