The Market Oilseed values temporarily dipped this week on improved moisture in Brazil. The change is temporary as the 6-15 day outlook calls for a return to heat and dryness and thus more stress for Brazil’s soybeans. For the week, January soybeans are down nearly 10-cents , putting them below the 100-day MA but still above the one-month low of 1297/bushel. Soyoil was inexplicably pressured lower by a U.S. Appeals Court ruling saying the Biden Administration must consider waiving biofuel blending requirements for small refineries. The ruling mostly affects ethanol since refineries are making money from biodiesel. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
