Higher Forecast for U.S. Soybean Crop INTL FCStone yesterday boosted its forecast for the U.S. soybean crop from 4.782 billion bushels (130.16 MMT) to 4.796 billion bushels (130.54 MMT), a revision based on the firm’s increased estimate for the average yield from 53.8 bushels/acre to 54 bushels/acre (3.63 MT/hectare). If realized, those yield and production numbers would both be records. Reports from farmers indicate they are seeing excellent yields except in a few states that suffered from drought during the growing season such as Kansas, Missouri, southern Iowa and parts of North Dakota. Infrastructure investment due diligence
On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
