Ukraine and EU Ukraine has reportedly been torn over a closer association with the EU and its moral dictates versus alignment with Russia, but it may have another reason to reconsider the move – its agricultural productivity.  EU ministers decided today to once again kick down the road a decision on approval of biotech maize 1507. Meanwhile, Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy says it expects a new law passed before year-end granting that country's farmers the right to grow biotech crops.
