Today at a public meeting of the White House Competition Council, President Biden announced the second of three promised livestock marketing rules under the Packers and Stockyards Act (PSA): the proposed Inclusive Competition and Market Integrity Rules “to protect farmers and ranchers from abuse.” These rules have been more than a year in the making, with the Administration issuing a request for information in March 2020, and an Executive Order in July 2021.
