The Republican congressional leadership is nearing one of its goals, passage of a joint budget resolution. With a statutory deadline of 15 April,  the House-Senate conference committee has approximately two weeks to reach an agreement.The Senate passed a budget early Friday morning (52-46) after the House approved its version earlier this week (228-199).
