SOTU Redux President Trump used last night’s State of the Union address to reiterate his goal of fixing “decades of unfair trade deals,” call for rebuilding “our crumbling infrastructure” and restate the four pillars of his immigration reform plan. There was no request at this time to extend Trade Promotion Authority. He called this time in history “A New American Moment,” which was a simple recasting of Ronald Reagan’s re-election theme, “It’s Morning in America.” More notable was the political reaction to the speech.
