Milling Wheat Southeast Europe and Black Sea wheat markets are mostly steady to start the week despite rising prices in France, Germany and the U.S. The Black Sea region has been under a hot/dry weather pattern that has yet to create significant concerns for the wheat crop there. Soil moistures are still ample, which is protecting the crop. If the current weather forecast holds, the region will continue drying and the threat to the crop will become more pronounced. Ukraine’s wheat shipments are down 1.2 MMT YTD for the 2018/19 crop year, according to recent data published by that country’s agricultural ministry.
