It’s been a tumultuous week on Capitol Hill. Congress faces a deadline of midnight tonight to fund the rest of the government and thereby prevent a partial shutdown over the Christmas holiday. Further, the fate of the biodiesel tax credit remains uncertain. Last evening the House passed a tax extender package that included the biodiesel tax credit extension and phasedown as outlined by WPI on 18 December. The Senate is unlikely to take this up before adjourning for this congressional session as it is trying to finish the funding bill.
