Now that the government has re-opened, the USDA announced yesterday that starting on 24 November producers can enroll in the second wave of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). The program covers eligible commodities that did not fall under the first application process. SDRP was approved by Congress in the American Relief Act of 2025.  Stage Two of SDRP covers eligible crops, tree, bush and vine losses that were not covered under Stage One program provisions, including shallow loss non-indemnified crops, and uncovered and quality losses caused by 2023 and 2024 drought.  Stage One of the program, which closes on 30 April 2026 along with Stage Two, included more than $9.3 billion in Emergency Commodity Assistance Progra...
