There are seven legislative days left before the fiscal year ends on 30 September, and on at least one of those days (23 September) the session is not scheduled to start until after 6:30 pm. This is the window for Congress to pass a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the federal government open while completing a more detailed budget blueprint that meets the broad, bi-partisan outline agreed to back on 2 August.
