Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) continues to wreak havoc. So far this week (and it is only Wednesday), APHIS announced an outbreak in Texas in a commercial pheasant flock, there are three more suspected cases in North Carolina, and an outbreak of HPAI has been reported to APHIS from Iowa authorities; that case is a 5,011,726 bird broiler flock in Iowa – the second 5 million bird flock hit (the other was a layer operation).    Moreover, there were two cases in Wyoming.
