The farm bill may face some competition for floor time from a new move to extend emergency unemployment compensation (EUC) when Congress reconvenes in January. House Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Maryland) is urging Democratic colleagues to withhold their vote for a farm bill until an EUC bill can be passed.
