Vague Law; Leap; Fool’s Gold; Commoditization

Greens and others in Canada have dreamed up what is termed the “Leap Manifesto,” which they contend would move society closer to utopia, and their aspirations for agriculture and trade are indicative of the mindset. Court Signal on WOTUS Aggies are hoping that the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling against the Obama Administration on a technical issue involving the Clean Water Act (CWA) is a precursor to the judiciary’s handling of the Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) case. Without dissent, the High Court ruled in a separate case that "jurisdictional determinations" by the Army Corps of Engineers are challengeable in court. Forecasting developments in production agriculture

On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt. WPI’s model has subsequently provided quantitative support to a multi-million-dollar investment into short-season corn variety development. WPI’s methodology included a series of interviews with regional grain elevators and seed consultants. Emphasizing outreach and communication with stakeholders who possess intimate sectoral knowledge – on-the-ground insights – is a regular component of WPI’s methodologies, made possible by WPI’s ever-growing network of industry contacts.
