The Vice President of the United State of America sounds like a powerful position, except even those that have held the job have derided it. John Adams was the country’s first vice president, and he told his wife that, “my Country has in its Wisdom contrived for me the most insignificant Office that ever the Invention of Man contrived or his Imagination conceived."
