The increasing global demand for oilseeds is well known and more than 40 percent of the soybeans produced move into international trade. This compares with 10 percent of the rice produced moving into export as traditionally rice consuming countries have long focused on domestic food security in this grain. Wheat has a much broader production geography but is still a highly traded crop with a quarter of the world supply moving across borders.
