Huge Soybean Export Inspections Last Week The U.S. soybean harvest may have been a bit later than normal this year, but U.S. exports are clearly catching up quickly to the pace of last year. Yesterday's USDA export inspections report indicated a total of 59.325 million bushels (1.616 MMT) of soybeans were inspected for export last week. Of that amount, 82.6 percent were shipments destined for China and 64,942 MT were containerized shipments. The shipments to China were to be exported from all coastal ranges including the Atlantic, Louisiana Gulf, Texas Gulf and PNW. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
