USDA Reduces Estimate of U.S. 2014 Soybean Crop As expected, USDA yesterday reduced its estimate of the U.S. 2014 soybean production. The change was based on its 1 September stocks report that indicated U.S. ending stocks of soybeans on that date totaled 191 million bushels, a bit below analysts’ average estimate of 205 million bushels. Because of the revision, USDA lowered its estimate for the 2014 crop from 3.969 billion bushels to 3.927 billion.
