UN Food Summit When the first biannual UN Food Summit occurred back in 2021, it was a hotly competed policy platform between agribusiness and the social activist community. The latter sees the current system as deeply flawed and sought to dismantle the corporate/scale/trade side of the sector. In the end, the UN’s report was fairly muted and life resumed as before. It is the UN after all and lacks any governing real power.  Late next month there will be a follow up meeting in what is being termed a stocktaking session. Communicating importance of value-added products

Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
