Market Commentary

Trading was double-sided and lackluster today following USDA’s bearish WASDE. Chart and technical conditions are bearish, and that is turning funds into sellers despite some solid end user buying. Reports from farm country are that farmer sales are almost completely gone after the CBOT’s recent break as producers adopt a strategy of storing grain and hoping for a trade war resolution. The latter may come soon(ish?) as the U.S. and China are once again sitting down to trade talks. With all the sitting down at meetings, getting up with nothing done and sitting down again, trade negotiations are starting to feel more like a Catholic Mass!
